Fusion Fund Wales Applications Open for Collaborations

The Wales round of the FUSION FUND is now open for applications, with a deadline of 22nd July 2018. The Fusion Fund offers £2000-£5000 for professional musicians to undertake UK-based projects that develop and test new work, ideas, or potential career directions through collaborative research and development.

Delivered by HELP MUSICIANS UK, the fund is seeking exciting collaborations that create work across art forms, creative sectors and other disciplines.

Applications must be music-focused, and projects should include contributions from at least one non-music discipline - eg storytellers, lighting designers, choreographers, technologists, scientists, gaming designers, theatre directors, visual artists etc.

It is also encouraging applications that consider unusual and extraordinary spaces to show work to new audiences.

There should be tangible results of the collaboration such as a body of work for an upcoming recording or new performance. Overall it should push boundaries of what the applicant does as a music creator/performer, exploring or testing something not currently able to achieve without support.

The fund is open to professional and emerging musicians over 21 of all genres and disciplines. They must be based primarily in the UK and eligible to work here, and been resident in the UK for at least 3 consecutive years, in financial need and without backing, and already have an active career. Solo instrumentalists, conductors, composers, vocalists, singer songwriters or multidisciplinary artists. Bands or ensembles with six members or less can also be supported.

The application is in a two-stage process - the closing date for Round 1 of Wales applications is 22nd July 2018.
