WOW Festival Volunteer Opportunities

Women of the World - WOW is a global festival where people of all ages and backgrounds celebrate the achievements of women and girls, but also examine the obstacles that prevent them from achieving their full potential and contributing to the world. The festival is bold and broad-based in its approach, both lively and thoughtful, and feeds the demand to discuss anything and everything. It is now recruiting volunteers (over 18 years old) for a weekly training programme in Cardiff.

There are 10 places available for people to take part in the training programme, which will run for two hours each week in the city centre. Sessions will equip the volunteer team with the festival production, event management and community engagement skills needed to ensure that the festival is a safe, well-run and successful event.

The support provided to volunteers is of huge benefit to the community, and should ensure a valuable and memorable experience at the WOW festival, which takes place in November 2018 at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff.

Volunteers will be offered the chance to meet new people and make useful connections, new experiences and an opportunity to give something back to the community, an opportunity to develop new skills e.g. introduction to British Sign Language (BSL), an introduction to first aid, and a chance to work on an internationally-renowned festival with a highly-skilled and experienced team.

The deadline to express your interest in the placement is 22nd June 2018. The training will take place for 2 hours per week between 24th September - 26th November. The WOW Cardiff festival takes place between 23rd - 25th November 2018.
