WOW (Women of the World) is a global festival celebrating the achievements of women and girls. This session at Butetown Community Centre on 2nd May aims to help plan the Cardiff event taking place this November.
The festival was created at London's Southbank Centre in 2011, and has taken place in 23 cities across five countries - from New York to Sydney, from Pakistan to Finland.
With support from Spirit of 2012, WOW is coming to Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff between 24th-25th November 2018, as a local festival with a global outlook.
Each WOW festival consists of talks, music, activism, performance, mentoring and big ideas, featuring women who are breaking the mould in science, entrepreneurship, the arts, sport, economics, health and business. They aim to be very diverse, with sessions on personal issues through to those of international concern including war and peacekeepingn, body image, violence against women & girls, race, religion, the role of men in gender equality, older women's voices, young women's stories, and whether Beyoncé is a feminist icon.
Please inform the organisers if you have any access requirements at the time of booking.
